Hot Lips

Psychotria elata
It's Valentine's Day! Big, sloppy kisses for everyone!

And as my obscenely luscious lips part and my hot, yearning breath wetly tickles your- oh! Ahem...

Flowers! I had flowers surgically attached to my tongue for Valentine's Day! Do you like it?

It's Hot Lips, a wonderful plant from Central America and northern South America. It's also known as Hooker's Lips, but I'm just not that kind of guy...

They belong to a group called Rubiaceae, the coffee family. Rubiaceae contains not just the coffee plant but also quinine for your gin and tonic and a whole host of medicinal and otherwise useful species.

Coffee, tonic water and Hooker's Lips? Whole economies have been built on less.

That first pic looks like a bad photoshop! And you know me, I've been reading your site forever and I've never said that before.

True! You've had a lot of time to mention photoshop, I'm glad you waited until you were confronted with a pair of lips stuck on a tree!
